Winter/Spring 2012

Spring's The Thing Choir

This semester's choir will focus on nature themes of Spring: rain, flowers, sun, etc. There are two age groups that will have different goals. The younger group will focus on basic vocal techniques, playing games that encourage musical skills and cooperation, while learning fun songs like I'll Follow the Sun and Singing In The Rain. The older group will begin basic sightreading instruction through a course book. Although the theme is the same, their songs will encorporate harmony and jazz style.

Electronic Music

Through 'GarageBand' music editing software, students will learn how to make music through computers using keyboard typing (or keyboards if available), pre-recorded loops, vocal and sound recordings, and the art of editing.  Alongside using software will be listening walks, active listening games, and exposure to odd and beautiful electronic musical pieces to stretch our ears and awaken the imagination to the world of electronic music.
This is through the Siena Saturday Scholars program.

Bring your lyrics, music or both and get help with that song you've had in your head for years.
I will assist you in completing your own song, and then recording it so you have a cd to take home with you. 3 sessions for $100.
